On Monday I had a meet with Ms Green and the other home learners. Phil came to the meet and taught us how to make a Pick a path. I choose to do a Pick a path about Dogs. I hope you like it!

 Yesterday I did the Fact File about Birds. I hope you like it. What is the most interesting fact?

Remove background

 A few days ago my sisters class was learning how to remove background. I decided to give it a go. here it  is. I hope you like them. Which one is your favourite? Have you done remove background before?

Ginger crunch

 Yesterday I made ginger crunch. We had to triple the icing to get it thick enough. It is delicious. Do you like ginger crunch? Here are some photos of the ginger crunch. I hope you like it.

Review about Rainbows End

Rainbows End is a theme park in Manukau. There is a Kids Kingdom which is good for age 3-7, in the Kids Kingdom there is an inside area and an outside area, in the inside area there is a chipmunks kind of thing that is good for playing tag. In the outside area there is drive town which is good for age 4-6, a merry go round and lots more. The Goldrush, Dodgems 4D and the Logflume are for 6-9. Finally the big 5 Stratosfear, Power Surge, Fear Fall, Invader and my favourite the Corkscrew roller coaster. The queues are huge for the Goldrush we had to wait 45 minutes for a 2 minute ride. It is $220 for 2 Adults and 2 Children. I think you should only go there for a special occasion because it is so much money and you have to wait in long queues.

  

Lockdown workout

 A few days ago my sister and I made a lockdown workout, you can do it too. It is fun and you get some exercise. I hope you like it.

Baking in Lockdown

Yesterday my sister and I decided to have a bake off. A bake off is when you bake something against other people and have a competition. We decided not to have a competition. My sister decided to make banana loaf and I decided to make chocolate cake. It took a while to make them but this is what they looked like in the end.             

A few days ago we made a restaurant at out house called "Your Table". My Mum was the customer, I came and took her order, she wanted an omelette a tropical delight (sprite and tropical juice) and afghans. Me and my sister made the tropical delight, I made the afghans and my sister made the omelette. Here are some pictures.

Taste test

Yesterday me and my sister had a taste test. We got blind folded and our Mum put food on our spoon and we had to guess what the food was. First my Mum put condensed milk on, I thought is was delicious but my sister thought it was terrible. Then she put Beetroot hummus on our spoon, I don't like beetroot hummus but I guessed it . After that she put Aioli on, I like Aioli but not by itself . Then she put Marmite on the spoon, I hate Marmite so I thought it was awful. After that she put Coconut yogurt on and many other gross and yum things. In the end me and my sister tied so my mum stopped. It was really fun. Some were disgusting. What would you put on the spoon? Lego city

Me and my sister made a Lego city, it took us a long time to make it. There is a mall, tent, amusement park ride, water park, spa, pineapple and watermelon. Can you spot any Lego people? Here is a photo of the Lego city.

🌋Volcano haiku🌋

Today I made a haiku. Can you guess what type of volcano I'm describing?

Under the water,

Lava boils and becomes steam,

Then turns into ash.

🌋My paper mache volcano🌋

 In lockdown Mr G put up a how to make a paper mache volcano. I thought it would be fun so I made one.

First I got a cardboard box and cut it to be kinda like a border. Then I put an empty bottle in the box. After that I got masking tape and put some of it in the bottle and the other side of it goes in the border after I repeated the step then we got some glue and some news paper and started paper mache. Once I did one layer of the paper mache I let it dry over night. In the morning after my google meet I did another layer of paper mache and let it dry. A few hours later I painted it with a little help with my sister and mum. Finally we finished but we didn't have any water proof paint and I didn't want to ruin my volcano so I didn't erupt it. Here is a photo of what it looks like.

 Today we made a slide about volcano's, we had to write what is a volcano and make a diagram of a volcano and labels.

 A few days ago we had a task, we had to make our ideal park in google slides. Here is mine, I hope you like it.

Dodge ball

Today we did dodge ball after morning tea. I started with a ball. It was hard getting my friends out. but I got some of my friends out by catching the ball. I was a defender. I got out twice and Mackenzie got me back in both of the times. I got Mackenzie back in once and Hiwatt in once. We won the first game. Then we played another game we won the second game to. 

100 word story

In class everyone wrote an 100 word story(It has to be exactly 100 words). It was hard to write exactly 100 words. I hope you like it.

Maddi just got a giraffe called Bambi. She loved her so much, one day she forgot to feed Bambi. Bambi was so hungry she ran away. Suddenly Bambi was lost. Suddenly she remembered this place and she started to think where she was. Then she remembered. “This is the wild,” she said. She saw a pile of leaves she loves jumping in. Thud Bambi fell in a hole. Three men came and said “you're coming with us” Then a truck came and took Bambi. Maddi was so worried she found footprints that looked like Bambi's. She followed  and found Bambi.

Sunrise in coding!

 

Here is my sunrise in Khan Academy. I really enjoyed making it, it was a bit tricky with the variables.

I Te Timatanga

  Today we wrote a story about I Te Timatanga gods. I really enjoyed writing this, it was challenging to write the Maori names and the macrons.

I Te Timatanga

Many years ago there were six brothers Tangaroa, Tāwhirimātea, Rongo, Tāne, Haumia and (Tū) Tūmatuenga had parents who loved each other so much, the mum’s name is called Papatūānuku the god of the earth and the dad’s name is Ranginui and he is the god of the sky. They loved each other so much. The brothers liked that their parents loved each other but it was too hot they could barely move.

“I’ve had enough of this, i’m sick of this,I say we kill them” said Tū

“I think we try and get them apart but not hurt them” said Tāwhirimātea,

“Let's have a meeting/vote” said Tāne

They all got together sweating and cramped and had a vote.

“Who votes to kill them” said Tāne

“ME” said Tū

“One vote for kill them” said Tāne

“Who votes push them apart somehow” said Tāne

“ME” said Tangaroa, Tāwhirimātea, Rongo, and Haumia

“That's settled then push them apart and not hurt them” said Tāne.

Making Manu Tukutuku(Kites)

 A few days ago we made matariki kites with our buddy class room 20. My buddy was my sister her friend and Mackenzie. First we got three twigs and tied them together. Then we got black paper and a white pastel and drew a tiki. Then we coloured in, and put it in the twigs. I really enjoyed colouring. It was challenging tying the knots. Production!

 Last Tuesday and Wednesday the whole school preformed a production about two yogurt containers called Fresh and smooth get split up and travel NZ and end up at Owairaka school and we recycle them and they find each other.

Pink shirt day

 

Today it is Pink Shirt Day. Sheryl came in our class and read us a book called Kind. She read it to us two times the first time we listened, the second time we wrote down the main ideas of the book.We wrote down about twenty each then we chose three and wrote them down. These are my three.😀
